Exclases Group showed a VIP version of the AW139 and the main innovation of the AWFamily, the AW189 – which entered the market in 2014 – at the 8th International Helicopter Industry Exhibition, HeliRussia 2015.

Presenting to the Russian audience, the official representative of AgustaWestland in Russia, Alberto Ponti, said that the helicopter was designed for offshore operations and transportation of 16 passengers. A Russian type certificate is expected to be obtained for the helicopter in summer 2015. A rescue version of the aircraft and an anti-icing version are to be certified by the end of the next year.

 

The twin-engine AW189 was certified by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) in February 2014.
